Client (and Veterinary Staff) Testimonials
“Mulligan has been so much better lately and I really think with [the baby] getting older and resembling a human more than a screaming potato he’s liking her much more. She also drops food now, so he’s a fan. His anxiety has been much better and he has been doing great on his morning drug cocktail- I rarely have to give him anything in the evening. He’s been slipping a lot so I’m working with him on a help em up harness but I’ll have to modify the back part for a tripod once he’s ready for it. For now the handle is helpful. He’s been incredibly food motivated so we have to separate him in our room quite often when she’s at her high chair. Otherwise she just passes him food, which is not great for either of them. He’s really good just hanging out with her and is so tolerant with her petting him and learning to be gentle with him. Overall, he’s doing really well with her so I wanted to share! I cannot thank you enough for all of your help!”
“We adopted a 6 year old French Bulldog (Gus) that had some behavior issues. He was a sweet boy but intermittently reactive and would jump/airbite towards us & almost immediately towards unfamiliar people. He was aggressive/reactive towards different sounds and other dogs when walking on the street. Our goals were to hopefully reduce the reactivity towards other dogs and towards us/unfamiliar people with the future/stretch goals of being able to have Gus around larger groups of people.
Dr. Edwards came onsite to do an assessment of Gus in the home. He was very thorough and detailed and we had some homework (environmental and behavioral on the humans part) to work on and we tested some different medications to help reduce Gus’ impulsivity/anxiety. He and his team continually would follow up to check in on his progress which was all positive.
It’s been about a year since we first worked with Dr. Edwards and we haven’t had Gus barking excessively at dogs. We have had contractors in and out of the house and he has slept while they worked. He hasn’t had manic moments (with the exception of when he is overly tired but can notice the pre-stage and redirect him beforehand). Best part - For Thanksgiving this year we had about 25+ people in the house and he did NOT have a manic moment!
We highly recommend Dr. Edwards! If you are willing to do the work he recommends, you and your pet will achieve great results! ”
“Our Luna (Cocker Spaniel) has made great progress with the support of Dr Edwards. It has been quite a journey and Dr Edwards has worked closely with us providing support and modifying Luna’s plan as needed. We are very grateful for the support and glad Luna can have a happy life. Thank you for everything. ”
“Six months after rescuing our mixed breed dog, I realized that my husband and I were not equipped to train him to stop his persistent barking and lunging at other dogs and people. Every time we left our home with the dog it was very stressful and not enjoyable. My veterinarian suggested we contact animal behaviorist, Dr Steven Edwards.
The first home consultation with Dr. Edwards made us realize that it wasn’t just about training. We needed to figure out and understand why our dog was acting this way. It turned out to be his fear and anxiety that caused such him to over react and be defensive.
I never dreamed how much Dr. Edwards’ expertise and experience, could help us replace our dog’s hyper reactions with the joy of living contently with a happy calm dog.
What a difference a few months can make! We enjoy peaceful walks and pleasant interactions now with other dogs, people, family and friends. Thanks to Dr. Edwards. ”
“Cilla is doing good! We are following Dr. Edwards’ instructions for medication when we leave for a short while. In addition we had a follow up with him via Zoom call in which he gave us more pointers... She seems to be getting more comfortable with us and her surroundings.”
“Behavior wise, he is continuing to do very well. All your tips have made the house peaceful. No fighting and he is much happier. ”
“Thank you so much! You have been a tremendous help!”
“Hi Dr. Edwards,
I hope you’ve been well! I wanted to send you a quick update that the new “vet medication” cocktail worked really well for Dublin.
He was able to stay calm for his recent vet visit, they took his blood and examined him (with the muzzle on) and he did not growl, bark, or seem upset.
This is a huge win for Dublin and for us! Thank you so much!!
”
“Thank you so much for your ongoing support! Patches is doing very well— not perfect, but I wasn’t expecting that. He’s silly and happy on walks—as you know, that was my goal! I appreciate all of your help and guidance”
“Dr. Edwards has changed the lives of Dorian and our family. Thanks to his expertise, Dorian is now confident in experiencing life outside the house. His pain management is under control, thanks to the Librela injections for his arthritis. We learned better ways to interact with him and deal with his fear-related aggression and separation anxiety; he has a brand new outlook on living. Thank you, Dr. Edwards, for your expertise and empathic leadership.”
“Thank you so much Dr. Edwards. The staff all thoroughly enjoyed having you here. It really was an informative and fun 2 hours. I have had multiple staff members come to me and tell me about how much they enjoyed the meeting. We cannot thank you enough!”
“Good evening Dr. Edwards,
I just wanted to give you a quick update, and let you know that Luna had a fantastic Thanksgiving! We followed all your steps, and everyone got through the holiday not only unscathed but successfully. It was undoubtedly stressful for Luna, mostly because she had to be isolated in our upstairs area, which she rarely spends time in. However she was a trooper and having my three children home as her supports really helped. Also, my parents were so excited, because for the first time since they have known Luna, she warmly greeted both of them. She has literally never let my dad pet her, because she has always been afraid and barked at him, but she went to him straight away!
Thank you so much for all your help and great advice.

“Dottie is doing great! . . . It really is amazing to see how well she’s doing. She’s spending a lot more time exploring . . . I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see her progress. You have made a huge difference in her life. I know the work is not over, but I’m feeling hope.
Thanks Dr. Edwards.”

“Our Corgi named Nacho just wasn’t comfortable in most situations and couldn’t get along with any other dogs. He was lashing out and was kicked out of his daycare for his behavior and we couldn’t figure out what to do. We had also just brought a new Corgi puppy into our home and it seemed to make the situation worse. I thought... “what did I do? I’m going to have to re-home my new puppy.” But then we were referred to Dr. Edwards by our Vet and with his help, Nacho has become a much more calm and sweet dog. He has been so happy this past year and he and my puppy are now best friends too. Nacho also has been attending a new daycare for the past year and they love him! They say he’s a sweetheart. Dr. Edwards truly changed our lives and we are extremely grateful for his help and continued support.”
“We are so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Edwards. Our rescue had become reactive over time towards other dogs, and at certain times of the day, reactive towards us. We went through countless weeks and months with trainers, and that’s when we were referred Dr. Edwards. Dr. Edwards helped us diagnose the root cause of her reactivity and anxiety and we’ve made immense progress in the last year. It is undeniable the difference in her overall demeanor. She is excited to go for walks again, she is loving and truly happy. She gets to live her best life, and it gives us so much joy knowing our furry best friend has the quality of life she deserves.”
“Hi Dr. Edwards,
We just wanted to thank you again for your help with Teddy. He has been doing so well over the past month. He seems so much happier and we are too! The toys, lick mats and puzzles have made a big difference. He also responds very well to soft music. We have taken him to an agility park, which he really enjoys.
We really appreciate your help!”
“Dr. Edwards has absolutely changed my pet and I’s lives. When I first adopted Ash, he was extremely reactive and fearful of everything. He had terrible separation anxiety and could not walk on a leash without major lunging and barking. He was causing me a lot of tears and anxiety, but I loved him so much that we sought out Dr. Edwards.
Dr. Edwards helped us change Ash completely and now Ash’s reactivity and anxiety is very much under control, which is something I thought we could never accomplish. Dr. Edwards’ methods are not only EXTREMELY effective, but he is also so great at educating you in order to help your pet. He truly explains why the dog’s have the issues that they do and he helps you really understand the root of their problems. He is also INCREDIBLE at responding and problem solving. If I ever had a new issue come up with Ash, I would just email Dr. Edwards and he would respond right away with many different solutions and he would follow up with you multiple times.
Truly I cannot thank Dr. Edwards enough for changing my life with my dog. My dog is a happy and less anxious dog now after all of the recommendations of Dr. Edwards has made. I would recommend Dr. Edwards over and over again to anyone that is struggling with their pets’ behaviors. ”
“My sweet Rylie had always been a little anxious but after a fall that left her needing surgery, she came back like a different dog.
Dr Edwards gave me my dog back.
His kind and gentle approach was just what she needed. Between the anti-anxiety medication as well as some re-training techniques my girl returned to her loving self!
I am eternally grateful for finding Dr. Edwards!”
“Once our cats started fighting, I had almost lost hope that they could happily coexist in the same home due to the severity of the fighting and aggression. We thought we had tried everything we could until you were able to shed some light on the situation and graciously taught us how to reintroduce the cats to each other. You helped us get the kitties on some medication, shared new ways for us to enrich their lives, and now they’re back to their happy little selves! I’d definitely recommend Dr. Edwards to anyone having trouble with their pets.

“My Boston Terrier Louie is a reactive dog. He was impossible to walk and launched and nipped at new people. Louie failed training and we were referred to Dr. Edwards. Dr. Edwards took the time to understand Louie’s situation and worked with me, his primary vet, and trainer to establish a medication regimen and set goals. With his medication regimen and training Louie is now able to go on walks in the neighborhood and be introduced to new people. This is a huge factor is making life with Louie more enjoyable and safe.”
“I am so glad we found Dr. Edwards! We adopted our dog Avery after she had been in a shelter for a year. We expected some challenges, but were not prepared for her level of fear & anxiety (which led to some aggressive behavior). While she bonded with us quickly, she was extremely anxious around other unfamiliar people. This made anything that involved other people very difficult, whether that was a routine vet visit or simply going for a walk in the neighborhood.
Dr. Edwards responded promptly after we contacted him. We had our initial consultation which was an extremely thorough couple of hours. Dr. Edwards prepared a very comprehensive plan including management, behavior modification, and medication. He also helped us better understand Avery’s body language. He has continued to be very responsive after our initial appointment and is quick to respond to questions.
I’m happy to say that with Dr. Edwards’ guidance, Avery has made amazing progress and continues to improve. We can go on pleasant walks and have visitors over to our house again. Most importantly, Avery is enjoying life rather than living in a constant state of anxiety. We are so grateful to Dr. Edwards!”
“All in all she is settling down into being a very good girl. And I think it is mostly due to your wisdom in putting her on the [medication]. Thanks for helping me give this skittish rescue dog comfortable golden years.”
“Dr Edwards,
It was great meeting you as well. You are Lola’s new best friend! The treat man!
I so appreciated hearing your thoughts and expertise regarding her behavior.”
“Everything is going really well with Scooter! We can’t thank you enough for working with us with him, he is such a good dog and has really settled in and continues to bond with us. He is such a lover and we’re so happy with our decision to take the time to see how it all would play out!”
“Thank you for the reports on the pups ......Just wanted to send a note regarding our session this morning....I am very appreciative of your advice and recommendations. They have been incredible and strategic tools and have been life-savers at times. The effort that you give to each session is impressive ....you always answer my questions in such a comprehensive manner and give examples that help me better understand the challenge that we are trying to overcome. If I have a solid understanding of what we are trying to accomplish, I am motivated to keep moving forward toward the training goals and, I become more aware of my dogs’ needs. Having a conversation about Reese was a huge benefit for me....I wanted to know how aging affects so many factors in a dog’s life ....thank you for letting me give you the details of Reese’s seizure episodes and considering them in her diagnosis....your acknowledgement of her issues was so appreciated.
Thanks again”
“We cannot begin to tell you how much you have improved [Star’s] well-being. We are very grateful to you and your knowledge.

“Thank you so much for the visit Dr. Edwards. I cannot tell you how empowered we now feel. The last few weeks we have felt so helpless and now having a plan is amazing. ”
